For those of you flying into Chicago for World Dip Con (Aug. 10-12 at the Congress Plaza Hotel in Chicago), we'll pick you up if we can. However, depending on timing and the availability of our drivers, we may ask you to take the L train, which really couldn't be any easier.
From Midway Airport (the slightly preferred airport of your 2012 WDC), you can take the Orange Line to the Harold Washington Library train station. The library is at 400 S. State St. The Congress Plaza Hotel is at 520 S. Michigan St. State is two blocks west of Michigan. The stop is 0.3 miles from the hotel. The train ride should take 24 minutes (eight stops), and the walk, 6.
From O'Hare Airport, you can take the Blue Line toward Forest Park to the LaSalle stop, which is at LaSalle and VanBuren. The Congress Plaza Hotel is at 520 S. Michigan St. (Congress and Michigan). LaSalle is five blocks west of Michigan. VanBuren is one block north of Congress. The stop is about 0.4 miles from the hotel. The train ride should take 44 minutes (20 stops), and the walk, 8.
If you're coming in from the suburbs, consider taking the train.
Driving is also an option. Parking at the Congress costs $35 per day if you self-park, $39 if you valet. For cheaper parking options, check out this article about driving to the con.
