Pyle caps another record-breaking year

WCW Club Season 2011 Games
Weasel_Pyle_06.JPG
Twenty-three people turned out for yesterday's Weasel Pyle, our club's happiest tradition, to play Diplomacy and celebrate another great year for the Weasels. With Sub-Prime Weasel Dan Burgess and War Weasel Jim O'Kelley sitting out, we fielded three boards, bringing our final totals for the year to 41 boards and 64 unique players. Both are records for us. The previous highs were 35 boards and 63 players, set in Season 5 last year. Here's how the boards went:

Game 147 may change dates

WCW Club Season 2011 Games

We're considering a change to Friday night for Game No. 147, which is currently scheduled for noon on Saturday at John Gramila's home in Logan Square. A Friday night game would take place at 7 p.m. at either John's home or my home in University Village. We now have seven potential participants for a Friday game, but two are reluctant and one is tentative. If you can play either time, please sign up in the comments section below. Not only do we want to save this game, but it we can pull it off, we'll ensure that Game No. 150 will be played next week at the Weasel Pyle. Totally worth it, right?

Evil Przyburgess hybrid tops Game 146

WCW Club Season 2011 Games

Przybocki had carved out a nice position, and Burgess romped with it to an 11-center board top. Of course, per our house rules, neither Przybocki nor Burgess scored points for the game, which ended in Spring 1909 with the following center counts:

Game Opening: Last Call!

WCW Club Season 2011 Games

Here's your last call for Diplomacy before the season-ending Weasel Pyle on Aug. 13. John Gramila will host the game at his place in Logan Square on Aug. 6. It's a short drive from the highway, and there's plenty of street parking available. We'll reveal the secret location in a separate email to the players.
